25th January Games

Greetings

Fair turnout on a bitterly cold evening (roll on summer).

Mark ran a game of the Lord of the Rings.

I ran a small game of TANKS for Chris and Steve H, giving me the chance to drive a Tiger 1 against the two Shermans. All vehicles took damage in a game with some manoeuvring - and correct use of the Initiative rules this time! - before close of play.

Next week, Steve S has agreed to run a Wings of War WW1 aerial game. I'm not sure what I'll bring as I have taken delivery of the Osprey submarine game 'They Come Unseen', and may try that out.

18th January Games

Greetings

Fair turnout last night:

Dave K ran a play test for his Zombie Apocalypse participation game - this has been requested by the Tonbridge club for the Cavalier show on 26/06/17, so it's time to start sorting things out!

One of our visiting members - Mark S - brought along a pre-production version of a game called Feld Marschal, which covers the German invasion of Russia in 1941. The game has been under development for an extended period, having been started by Mark's father many moons ago. An opportunity for a play test was too good to miss, together with a discussion on marketing and a possible Kickstarter. Sorry, Chris, I couldn't get your good side in the photo.

Feld Marschal play test

Next week, I'll run a 28mm Tanks game, so if you have any available models, bring 'em along!

11th January Games

Greetings

Decent turnout last night for the time of year - it was my first meeting of 2017 due to illness last week. Mark ran a play test of a set of barbarian fantasy skirmish rules he is working on; this provoked 'lively discussion' as is often the case in these situations.

I ran a small scale TANKS game in 15mm using two Shermans against a single Pather; couldn't supply anymore as the necessary models are currently out of stock in most places.

The situation regarding the club's attendance at Cavalier in February has taken a turn for the better. We will probably be running Dave K's zombie apocalypse game at the specific request of the organisers; more news on this anon.

Dave has suggested we run the zombie game next week ahead of the show to sort out scenarios, terrain etc. So I'll sort out something as a backup game.

See yer soon
