15th January Games

Greetings

Very quiet last night. Steve S and Dave K played Last Night on Earth, whilst I ran Lion Rampant for Bronze Age Greek forces to give Matt and Steve H a game. Matt had to leave early, but by that point he was losing troops badly, so Steve and I won . . . I think.

It was nice to see a French and Indian Wars game on another table using the Muskets & Tomahawks rules.

At this point, I've offered to run a Napoleonic Naval game next week, any other offers would be most welcome.

See yer soon

16th October Games

This week's meeting got off to an unusual start when Brian turned up after a long absence and proceeded to fill the room with games, models and gods alone know what else which he was desirous of disposing of. Suffice to say a proportion went to various members present, and I witnessed the unlikely sight of Dave Crook at a total loss for words!

When the games got under way, Dave Kightly ran Last Night on Earth (US based zombie game for the uninitiated) and Bob, Andy and Mark ran the promised 40K game. Pictures attached, including James' Ork Stompa (I think that's the correct spelling) which took down a Dark Eldar barge before said Eldar stomped the Orks.

Next week, a Warhammer Fantasy game has been arranged; I will run the ACW naval game I had intended for this week, but which was rather overtaken by events.

See yer soon,
Neil

May 11th Games

Two games on last night. A well attended board game of Last Night on Earth where the heroes managed to rescue the townsfolk before being overrun by zombies.

Second game was a short play test of a set of ACW navel rules. They seemed to work and flow quite well. With numerous shots hitting but bouncing off the armour. Until that was two shots from the confederate ship hit the same area, both penetrating the armour and rolling a maximum critical hit and substantial below the waterline damage. Goodbye monitor. Lot of post battle discussion between the navel masters, Neil and Dave, so I would expect some tweaks for next time.
