18th December Games

Greetings


Despite local traffic problems, we were able to run the Christmas Adventures in the Lost Valley game for everyone in attendance. Rob's friend Pete and Phil for the Community Centre crowd were also in attendance for the ensuing mayhem umpired by Steve S, to whom thanks for his efforts.

This was our last meeting for 2019, subject to other off piste games; the next scheduled meeting will be on Wednesday 8/1/20. Decisions on games will be taken nearer to the date.


Best wishes to all for 2019 and may your Christmas be whatever colour the best fits with your domestic décor.

20th December Games

Greetings

Last night saw the return of the annual bout of insane mayhem we refer to as 'The Christmas Game' as organised by Steve S; predictably this involved dinosaurs and cowboys (as you do), which gave me the chance to revenge myself on those playing by running the dinosaurs as an equal opportunity menace! The dino's didn't do so well this year, suffering major casualties and failing to prevent Mark and (I think) Josh from finding the lost gold mine.

Although Wayland Games is open on 27/12/17, it has been agreed that we need to recover from the war on food/booze/tv for the week. Accordingly, SEEMs will reconvene on Wednesday 3/1/18 when the plan is to give the Terminator Genesis game a try.

Thanks to Scott and all at Wayland for their hospitality since our arrival earlier this year; may the deity of your choice shower you with blessings in the coming year and may your Christmas be the colour you feel most appropriate to your needs.

21st December Games

Greetings

Sufficient attendees to run the traditional Christmas Dinosaur game, hosted by Steve S. This was based (very loosely indeed) on the classic film 'The Valley Of Gwanji' and involved a horde of rampaging dinosaurs smashing their way through a Western town with a bank raid in progress. Typical day in the Old West, I hear you say? Great fun all round, thanks for the game Steve.

The Hockley Community Centre will be closed next week, so our next club meeting will be on Wednesday 4/1/17. No decision has been made concerning games at this time, so suggestions would be appreciated.

Finally, may your Christmas be filled with hapiness and be whatever colour you deem appropriate.

23rd December Games

Greetings

Still a bit thin on the ground this week, but to be expected with Christmas almost upon us.

Steve S ran the traditional Lost World / Dinosaur Hunt, while I reprised my role as the Beast Master.

Chris won the game while Josh was an honoured second, having gathered Masai followers, cattle, Queen Victoria (Gawd bless her) and saundry lesser mortals in his travels.

Next time, Steve has suggested a game of Age of Sigmar, so we need to have a think about what other games to have to hand.

17th December Games

We were rather thin on the ground this week - due no doubt to seasonal panics etc. My thanks to Steve for running his traditional Lost World adventure game, giving me the chance to inflict my own special brand of mayhem as the BeastMaster. Image of Old One-Eye (below) about to wreck havoc.

We go into Yuletide hibernation until 7/1/15, so give some thought to what games you might want to play then. As ever my best wishes to one and all for Christmas and the New Year, and may your Christmas be what ever colour you feel appropriate

18th December Games

We had a better turnout than expected, given the pressures of the season and some particularly grotty weather late in the evening. Steve Slater kindly ran a Valley of the Dinosaurs board game. This allowed me to reprise my traditional Beast Master role for the Christmas game - suffice to say that I was able to spread a little misery around the various players during the course of the game. Steve accumulated the most loot but had no surviving characters to spend it with!

Dave Kightly ran a Zombiecide game for the remaining members present; I didn't get much time to look at this but those playing appeared to enjoy the game, which I suspect will be played again soon.

The next two Wednesdays will not see meetings due to Christmas and the New Year; our next scheduled meeting will be on Wednesday 8th January 2014. I look forward to seeing you then.

In the mean time, have a very Happy Christmas and may 2014 be a good year for us all.
