6th March Games

A decent turnout with no less than three games underway last night. Steve H & S were playtesting the Blood and Plunder pirates skirmish game, Alan and Rob ran an Old World Warhammer fantasy battle with Empire and Wood Elves (I think?) forces, while Mark and Andy P ran a Lord of the Rings game for Eddie and I with Rohirrim and Ork forces, the latter assaulting a settlement which I named (for reasons which will become apparent) A-Lam-O. Despite Andy and I putting up a solid defence, we were overrun and..........it just got ugly thereafter. Good fun for all that.

Next week, I’ll bring my Angels 20 collection, featuring either Eastern Front or possibly Pacific scenarios. Steve S has booked a spare table for a board game if this becomes necessary. For those who haven’t been aware, the proposed relocation of the Wayland warehouse to another site is unlikely to affect the games centre.

23rd October Games

Mark, Bob and Andy ran a Warhammer Fantasy game, and I ran the ACW naval game rescheduled from last week. This turned out to be a dour struggle, resulting in a Confederate victory by preventing the Union force from proceeding upriver. No pictures this week as I was busy umpiring....

Next week, Laurie has offered to run a Western Gunfight using the Dead Man's Hand rules; Bob and Andy will run a Malifaux game, while the remainder of us are likely to be engaged in a first game of Star Trek Attack Wing. Mike has played a few games already, and believes it to be a better game than X-wing - praise indeed!

18th September Games

Reasonable turnout this week; Mark, Bob and Andy played a Warhammer Fantasy assault on a fortified site, whilst I ran a Star Wars X Wing game in preparation for the Essex Warriors Open Day on the 29th September 2013. It appears that most of the players got the idea by close of play....also nice to see Ernie prior to his departure to visit family in Australia next week. Have a good time and come back rested Ernie!

Recent Games

Last two weeks games have included Border Reivers, ACW navel, WHFB and Ludis Gladiatorius which as always was good fun. Did surprise myself by letting myself drift within distance of 1 hit point Laurie to enable him to ‘savage attack’ me when my back was turned. And that was after he had tried to get me to team up with him. Some people you just can not trust.

Ludis Gladiatorius is a good little game and it is tempting to use this as a basis for fantasy arena skirmish. My otherworld figures are just screaming to be used. Need to give this one some though.
