4th June Games

A bit thin on the ground due to sickness (get well soon, Steve H) but sufficient on hand to run Mark's planned SWAT game as there wasn't enough of us to play Angels 20 as well. Dave K, Eddie, Andy P, Nigel, Steve S and myself were tasked with rescuing a scientist from assorted baddies, download his research and destroy the computers used to hold same. We commenced dealing with the bad guys with the usual terminal methods, rescued the scientist and his research and still had time for tea and medals. Thanks to Mark for a most entertaining game (craic supplied by those present).

Next week I intend to run a final test game for TANKS in Normandy before we take the game to Broadside on the 14th. Any assistance from those attending will be appreciated.

See yer soon,

15th January Games

Sufficient members were present last night to run Mark's SWAT game, which required six operatives to make a covert entry to a facility to search and destroy sundry biological weapons. These were guarded by various goons (and at least one Doctor Evil lookalike) together with a number of armoured troopers who were particularly obnoxious. Suffice to say that truth, Justice and the A******n Way prevailed and a gratifying number of explosions resulted in the 'elimination' of the items in question. Great fun as always.

Dave K has offered to run a Western Gunfight using his 'Fearless' rules next week; Dave, let me know if you need an appropriately dusty cloth for the game?

See yer soon,

2rnd August Games

Greetings

Still a bit thin on the ground, which meant there was sufficient room for all to play Mark’s SWAT team game without my gladiator game being required (although I did bring some of the 54mm figures intended for use for the proposed show game, currently in the planning stage). The mission was to rescue a group of scientists held hostage by a mix of low level thugs and mercenaries, moving though a 3D setup Mark has acquired. Most enjoyable, proper tactics were rewarded and the hostages were rescued. Rob and Alan were playing Infinity, and still going strong after we’d completed our mission and packed up!

Next week, Andy has organised a Lord of the Rings game, while I’ve revamped the DBA based ECW rules I devised to use with the WoFun flat figures I bought a while back, and will run a game at the same time.

See yer soon,

23rd October Games

Greetings

Not very many of us around last night, so just the one game played. Mark ran his SWAT team game which was still in the balance when I had to leave.

Next week, I'll run a Battlefleet Gothic and I believe Andy P is running a Fallout game.

9th May Games

Greetings

Thanks to Mark for running his SWAT game; this time it took on a Special Forces theme to infiltrate and 'neutralise' a terrorist base. A good game enjoyed by all.

Next week, plans are afoot to try a Roaring 20's gangster game using Mad Dogs with Guns, whilst Chris and I intend to give our respective English and Egyptian forces for the 1881 war a run out using The Men Who Would Be Kings rules. I've asked Scott to hold two tables for us, so we should be ok.

26th October Games

Greetings

My thanks to Mark for running his SWAT game for the benefit of those attending last night - apparently a U.S. Presidential candidate didn't survive the game, but it would be invidious to name the deceased politician . . .

Steve H and I settled to a Space Hulk game; Suicide Mission which lived up to it's name, but the Deathwing put up a good fight before being wiped out ('stealers rool OK).

Next week, Dave K has offered to run a Pulp Alley game, while I have it in mind to run a pre-dreadnought or WW1 naval game.

See yer soon

23rd March Games

Greetings

Thanks to Mark for his SWAT game and to Steve S for organising a Flames of War game last night.

Dave K has offered to run a Pulp Alley game next week as a new project; don't forget your trench coat and fedora, blue-eyes.

I'll bring something along as a backup

See yer soon
