Greetings
Matt's Maximilian Adventure game was postponed due to work commitments, so we had to put together some games on the hoof. Dave K ran a Hordes of the Things game for Mark and Steve S. Rob ran a fantasy game which I didn't get any details for but had some really nicely painted figures. Steve H turned up with Richard Borg's new sci-fi game Red Alert for fleet level space battles which he had just recieved; this runs in the same way as Memoir 44 being card driven for movement/combat. We didn't have much time to play test but combat is fast and deadly. We'll be lookin gat this again soon.
Next week, Matt will hopefully be able to run the Maximilian Avendure game, Dave K says a further Mad Dogs with Guns game has been arranged, and I'll bring along a game to take up any slack.
See yer soon

20th March Games
Greetings
A decent turnout last night, when Steve S and Dave K ran a gangster game for those attending. Nice to see our two most recent recruits Matt and Eamon (whose son Finn was also in attendance) involved. Rob and Andy P played Fallout, whilst Mike C and Steve B played their first game of Rebels and Patriots, using Mike's newly completed ACW collection. Mike tells me the rules work out well and he'll be adding more to the collection, (I need to push my confederates along . . .).
I've been up to see Ernie Foker today (Thursday) to play test a DBA based set of rules for the Franco-Prussian War. The game played went well considering the amendments hadn't been tested to date, and only a few changes appear to be required. Enie sends his best to all and hopes to see you at Salute on the 6th April.

13th March Games
Greetings
Nice to see Matt again on a night when we were down on numbers. Mark ran the promised Lord of the Rings game, with an Uruk-Hai force up against a Gondor/Rohirrim alliance. Suffice to say the good guys had a bad evening, and the Uruks had horse steaks for dinner! Rob and Andy played a further game of Fallout, albeit I didn't get to see much of this.
Next week, I've offered to run the ancient naval game I bought this week but postponed die to the lack of numbers last night. Nothing else planned as yet, so I'd appreciate some offers and ideas.

6th March Games
Greetings
Slightly down on numbers again this week, but we still managed to run two games. Andy P and Rob played Fallout, whilst I ran The Men Who Would Be Kings scenario based on an ambush on the Suakin front on 1885. Steve S played the British whilst Dave K and Mark skulked on the shrubbery as the Angry Locals. After the ambush was sprung, the following fight was exceptionally bloody, although Steve was throwing incredible firing dice. At the end of play both sides were significantly down on numbers; I will admit to a rules error in which I made the winners of melees test for pinning which they should not have done. This would have significantly assisted th Mahdists but since they prevented the British from achieving their objective of crossing the table, they could claim the victory. Apologies to all concerned, I blame senility/rules rustiness/Brexit . . .
Next week, Mark has offered a Lord of the Rings game. Rob will run another Fallout game.

27th February Games
Greetings
Things are returning to what passes for normal after Cavalier. Rob and Andy P ran a game of Fallout for the benefit of Steve H and Paul, whilst Dave K ran a further Old West hunfight for myself. Visitors included Dave C and Andy H for the first time in a while. This game went better for me after the massacre a couple of weeks ago; with slightly better dice luck I made rather a mess of Dave's posse, Whilst Steve S gained one of the objectives. Not sure who you'd call the winner in that situation.
Next week, Andy P and Rob want to run a further game of Fallout, Steve S has offered boardgames and whilst I've offered to run The Men Who Would Be Kings as a Sudan scenario for anyone who's interested.

Cavalier 2019 Report
Greetings
Thanks to those who attended the show today and ran the game or helped with setup and clear up; you know who you are! The game was generally well received. The show itself had some nice games but the trade seemed down a bit from previous years. That said, I managed to give the shopping list a bit of grief, and the bring and buy was kind for both sales and purchases, so all in all not a bad day.
A quick discussion concerning games was held and it's been decided that Andy and Rob will probably play Fallout, whilst Dave K wants to run a further Old West Gunfight.
See yer then
