29th January Games

Greetings

Still a bit low on numbers this week - Steve S and Dave K played A Song Of Ice And Fire again (and the Starks lost again). I ran the planned Men Who Would Be Kings game, using my Zulu Wars collection prior to the game at Cavalier in February. The Zulus chose to go in full bore this time, and nearly smashed the British on first contact. As it was one British unit was swept away and the other half reduced to half strength. The timely intervention of HM 17th Lancers on the British right flank reduced the Zulus to below half strength and won the game; so tea and medals all round!

Next week, Dave K has offered to run Star Wars Imperial Assault, whilst I've been asked to run a Battlefleet Gothic game.

22rnd January Games

Greetings

Very low attendance last night. Steve S and Dave K played S Song of Ice and Fire, whilst Steve H and I played a Napoleonic naval game based on the action off Santo Domingo in 1806. Suffice to say the Starks took another pounding, and I managed to save two ships and a possible third from the pursing British - the scenario would work well with the large ships Warlord are now selling, but they'll have to wait as I have plenty awaiting the brush at present.

I'll run a colonial game using The Men Who Would Be Kings ahead of the Cavalier show on 23/02/20 which we'll be attending with a similar game. More details at http://www/twws.org.uk/

15th January Games

Greetings

Very quiet last night. Steve S and Dave K played Last Night on Earth, whilst I ran Lion Rampant for Bronze Age Greek forces to give Matt and Steve H a game. Matt had to leave early, but by that point he was losing troops badly, so Steve and I won . . . I think.

It was nice to see a French and Indian Wars game on another table using the Muskets & Tomahawks rules.

At this point, I've offered to run a Napoleonic Naval game next week, any other offers would be most welcome.

8th January Games

Greetings

The first meeting of 2020 saw three games under way. Rob ran a Fallout game while Mark ran his Barbarian Fantasy skirmish game.

For my part, I ran a full version of the Mortal Gods ancient Greek skirmish, which I've been trying to arrange for some time. The game went well even though Mike C and I lost most of our forces to next to no loses from the other side.

I've agreed to run a Lion Rampant variant for my Bronze age Greeks next week. Not sure what else is planned due to probable low attendance.
