20th March Games

A bit thin on the ground again this week - but much free food in the bar for those who attended! (unused buffet for a function earlier in the day, lots of goodies to stuff oneself with..which one did). 

Thanks to Steve for a Doctor Who game reminiscent of the Christmas game but slightly smaller scale, which was well supported. I took the opportunity to run an Angels 20 game using some of the new models from the Bandits High release which came out recently. Pictures of the models used are attached; suffice to say the USAAF took a pounding from the Fw190 D's shown. Revenge will be sought I suspect.

Next week, Andrew has offered to run his pirates game. Predictably, Angels 20 will be my offering. This time on the Eastern Front, with dive bombers and some all new Soviet goodness on show!

6th March Games

We were a bit thin on the ground last week and the planned Old West gunfight had to be put off; thanks to Mark for stepping up and running a SWAT game for the benefit of those present.

Current offers for the coming week are the rescheduled Old West game, with Angels 20 as a side dish.

27th February Games

Apologies if I was not seen to be running a game this Wednesday just gone; a major league show and tell was in progress with the newly released Bandits High additions for Angels 20! Thanks to Dave Kightly for running the promised Border Reiver game for the benefit of all those present. 

Next week, it is intended to run Angels 20 with some of the new aircraft now available and a Wild West game.

Cavalier 2013 extra

Cavalier 2013

SEEMS were in attendance at Cavalier 2013 held by the Tonbridge Wells Wargames Society at the Angel Centre, Tonbridge on Sunday 24th February.

Approx 500 visitors were at the show and the main hall was well laid out with a mix of traders and game displays.

The Sealed Knot also had a stand with members in full dress.

SEEMS won the "Best Demonstration Game" on the day with 'A Very French Civil War' that looked splendid and always appeared to have a mass of people around the table watching the events unfold.

13th February Games

A reasonably busy evening this time, with three games on the go. Steve Slater ran a board game which I didn't have time to investigate but seemed to go well. Mark and co. were busy in the 40K universe with a game that saw Alan's Imperials well and truly duffed up. 

Steve Harbron and I ran an X wing game in an attempt to create the Death Star trench attack. The Rebels didn't do terribly well (since most players were new to the game), but I have attached a picture of the early stages before a right old furball ensued.

Next week, Dave Knightly and Mark Lovett are intending to run another test of their Dark Ages skirmish game. I will bring Angels 20 with a view to some North Africa/Malta action. Time to let the Ities out to play again...

As a reminder to one and all, the Cavalier show will take place on Sunday 24th February 2013. We have a table to present the Very French Civil War game developed by John and Chris. Details to be sorted out this coming week re travel etc.

29th January Games

Bit of a late start for us all this week, for various reasons, but we still managed to run two games; thanks to Steve for setting up a Flames of War action which accommodated most of the people present.

Dave Crook and I (following some serious horse-trading on the aviation and naval front) ran a 1941 Angel 20 game based around the German invasion of Russia. This was a means to test the variable pilot quality tables Dave has ben working on recently. The game was a bit short as the Russians outmanouevred the Germans (!!), but the new tables did improve the feel of the game.

In other news - I have been advised we have a table for the Very French Civil War game at Cavalier on the 24th February 2013. More details anon. Another item -more for the aviation buffs - is a link to the website below:
