15th May Games

Greetings

A largely fantasy theme to this week's games; Dave K ran A Song of Fire and Ice (Game of Thrones mass combat game) for Mark and Steve S, while Rob and Andy played a game of Dark Souls.

Next week, I've offered to bring along my Bronze Age Greeks for a game using a Lion Rampant variant for the period. Dave K has offered to run the Song of Fire and Ice game again, having hopefully gotten to grips with the rules.

8th May Games

Greetings

I ran a large scale (four Terminator squads) Space Hulk game for those in anttendance last night, using the Wayland Zone Mortalis set as the basis of an equipment and artifact recovery mission. It all started well, but things went South with a vengeance for the Deathwing and there were no survivors once the Stealers got their mojo working. That said, the game was well received by those playing, and with a bit of tweeking and a slight change in the layout, this will be a game I'd run again.

Next week Dave K has offered to bring along his Game of Thrones battle game, and I'll have a look at a backup game.

1st May Games

Greetings

Slightly down on numbers this week, but we were able to run two games. Mark ran his Barbarian Fantasy game for Dave K, Steve S and myself, while Rob and Andy P ran a Fallout game, whcih attracted attention from some of those onsite. We were able to use Wayland's lovely labyrinth set up for the Barbarian game, so thanks to them for finding some and allowing our use.

Next week, I'd like to use this terrain for large scale Space Hulk.

24th April Games

Greetings

Dave K hosted a Western Gunfight game last night for myself, Steve S and Mark. Steve and I ran out winners on points but my posse took a pasting from long range rifle fire - being equipped mostly with pistols and shotguns being a disadvantage.

Steve H ran his new Hellboy board game for the rest of those present; I understand that no Hershey bars were harmed during the performance.

Next week, Mark has offered to run his Barbarian fantasy game; hopefully the Wayland dungeon board will be available. I'll bring Space Hulk for those who prefer their mayhem with more firepower.

17th April Games

Greetings

A selection of games last night - Rob and Alan played Kill-Team, Mike and Steve B played another Rebels and Patriots ACW game, whilst I ran a Battlefleet Gothic game for the remainder of those present. My thanks to Matt and Mike for photos as I forgot my camera.

I can only report on my game as I was umpiring but basically it was a chance to use the big beasts - and Emperor class BB and a Desolator class BB - with supporting cruisers and escorts. An exceedingly messy action ensued but the Imperium came out on top (just) due to Chaos losses and damage inflicted. It's been a while since we last played BFG and we were all a bit rusty.

Next week, Dave K has offered to run a Western Gunfight and I believe Andy P has a couple of board games in mind.

10th April Games

Greetings

Dave K and Steve S ran a further Mad Dogs with Guns gangster game (based on a raid on one gang's bootleg store), whilst Alan and Rob played Kill-Team using Dark Eldar and Orks.

Plans for next week thus far include Mark's Retro Raygun sci-fi game, and I'll bring some Battlefleet Gothic for some serious mayhem.

3rd April Games

Greetings

A bit quiet last night; Dave K and Steve S ran the planned Mad Dogs with Guns game, whilst Rob and Andy P played the board game from last week (and I still can't remember the name).

Salute at Excel this Saturday, so I expect to see most members during the day. Next week, Steve H has agreed to run the new Richard Borg space battle game, Red Alert, again, since I left early last night, I'm not sure what other hames have been planned but I'll bring a backup game or two.
