18th March Games

     Thanks to John for running an early WW2 Rapid Fire game, based on the Arras action of May 1940. The pictures below show the British forces moving up.

      While Neil umpired a 4 player game of Lion's Rampant that swung backwards and forwards allowing for a really involved game, pictures below, ending in a victory for the guys using Neil's Saxon army.

Next week, Dave Knightly, has agreed to run another test game of his Old West Gunfight rules. Anybody with figures and/or buildings should bring the goods to help with the setup.

Plans are also afoot for the AGM to be held during April; date to be advised.

4th March Games

     Greetings

My thanks to Steve S and Andy for their pirates game this week. I didn't get to see a lot of the action as Andy Hunt, Mike and I were engaged in a rather bloody Dark Ages ' Lion's Rampant' game, which was great fun.

Next week, Steve has offered to run a Doctor Who game; I am not sure what I will provide yet, but Mike has asked for Angels 20, so we may yet be airborne again.

11th February Games

     A decent turnout this week. Thanks to John for running a WW2 game and Neil for running an impromptu 3 way Lion's Rampant game. 

     Both looked like really enjoyable games and, from a personal point of view, we will definitely see more Lion's Rampant in the future. The game flows really nicely and definitely feels like it could support multiple players on a more regular basis.

4th February Games

      Another good turn out this week, with Alan and me playing an impromptu game of Saga, while the rest of those present played a big multi player game of LotR put on by Mark.

      Next week John is putting on his 15mm WW2 game and there is going to Lion's Rampant for anyone with a force to join in with.

Convention Logo

Sometime last year Neil asked me to produce a new Club logo for showing at conventions and some idiot suggested doing it as a pop up which I foolishly agreed to. Unfortunately I then had a nasty operation followed by various other family upsets and never finished in time for last years season. I did finished it some three months ago but have not actually been to the club in all that time (and annoyingly forgot to take last Friday when I saw Chris at Waylands) so I thought I'd stick a few photo's up to show everyone what it looks like and provided it meets approval hope to arrange to get it in before the next convention.

28th January Games

       Good turnout this week; Laurie, Andy and Neil played Battle cry. While the rest of those present played 'Pirates of the crimson coast'. Which turned out to be a great little game that encouraged armada like alliances, lots of carnage and a lot of backstabbing thereafter. All the pictures below were taken from the French fleet's perspective.

Next week, Mark has offered Lord of the Rings, Neil will bring the hobbit board game and there might be some Saga.

17th December Games

We were rather thin on the ground this week - due no doubt to seasonal panics etc. My thanks to Steve for running his traditional Lost World adventure game, giving me the chance to inflict my own special brand of mayhem as the BeastMaster. Image of Old One-Eye (below) about to wreck havoc.

We go into Yuletide hibernation until 7/1/15, so give some thought to what games you might want to play then. As ever my best wishes to one and all for Christmas and the New Year, and may your Christmas be what ever colour you feel appropriate
